OUR SKIN SPEAKS
And does it reflect the years we have?
It is never too late to take care of yourself. Many times they ask me if once the wrinkles have appeared, it is worth taking care of the skin. The answer is a resounding yes.
Take care of the skin
The wrinkle can be beautiful, or simply "wrinkle". A mature and cared for skin is precious. But yes, you have to take care of it. As we age, the functions and structure of the skin deteriorate: the skin becomes thinner and more translucent, and also more sensitive to external aggressions; collagen and elastin fibers lose their function, leaving an increasingly less firm and elastic appearance; pigmentation loses uniformity and spots appear.
And this is a completely natural process. Our skin speaks of what we have experienced. But it is in our hands to age in the most beautiful and healthy way possible. The question we must ask ourselves is, does our skin reflect how old we are?
Skin aging
We can distinguish two types of aging. The natural and typical of age (intrinsic), and premature aging that is produced by factors external to the body (extrinsic):
Intrinsic aging
Around the age of 50, the skin appears drier, thinner, flabby and rough. Wrinkles are becoming more and more visible and there are often hyperpigmented areas.
Premature aging
It is produced before time due to stress, emotional instability, lack of sleep; due to overexposure to wind, cold or pollution; due to poor diet, lack of physical exercise, tobacco or alcohol. It also influences having the skin constantly dehydrated and not taking care of it according to its needs.
What can we do?
So there is a lot we can do to improve it and keep it beautiful. In the first place, we can review our daily habits, and secondly, attend to your skin needs. The main thing is to apply a good moisturizer at least twice a day. We must also avoid cleaning with alkaline soaps, and instead use only mild cleansers, or a cleansing milk especially suitable for dry, sensitive and mature skin, which we then remove with gauze or cotton. Both water, due to its high pH, and certain soaps, can weaken the acid mantle that covers the skin and make it more vulnerable.

Using natural cosmetics with an active ingredient indicated for mature skin would also be a good idea. The main ones are: hyaluronic acid, vitamins C and E, coenzyme Q10, kojic acid, green tea, gotu kola and echinacea. Also, here I bring you a simple anti-aging serum proposal to do at home:
48 grams of pomegranate vegetable oil
10 drops of geranium essential oil
5 drops of immortelle essential oil
We mix it all in a container and apply it twice a day to clean skin.
Other essential oils indicated for mature skin are: lavender, patchouli, cypress, sandalwood, neroli, rose, chamomile, palmarosa and myrrh.
And, without a doubt, the first cause of premature aging of the skin is sun exposure. It is estimated that 90% of the skin changes associated with age are the consequence of chronic sun exposure without measure and without sun protection, in particular due to its action on cellular DNA. That is why we should always, always, wear sun protection at least on the face, and better also on the hands, neck and décolleté. The sun not only produces the fearsome sunburns, but the radiation is capable of penetrating even the deepest layers, aging our skin in a way. early. Protection must be both UVB and UVA.

It is easily recognized by its white petals, its yellow center and its spiky leaves, and especially by its aroma. It has anti-inflammatory, regenerating and antipruritic properties. Its infusion can be used as a tonic to treat sensitive, irritated or battered skin; and also to clean the eyes, or to treat oral problems. In addition, this infusion can be applied as a tonic on blonde hair, which will be highly benefited by its properties.
